Emergency Lights

A functioning emergency light is required to comply with state building and fire codes, insurance standards, and even OSHA standards. The Exit Light Company offers cost-effective, energy efficient emergency lights to meet a variety of applications including: industrial, remote capable and wet location emergency lighting, as well as high end architectural and recessed installation.

Our newest series of LED emergency lights use ultra bright, energy-efficient Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs). This configuration allows for low-voltage operation eliminating the need for a bulky sealed lead acid battery. Instead, units include maintenance-free NiCad batteries, making the unit much lighter and easier to install.

Your place of work may be prepared for the next power failure. Is your home? Battery Powered Lights help brighten your home during power failure.

What is an Emergency Light?

An Emergency Light is a light fixture that illuminates key safety areas when a building experiences power loss. A unit with Battery Backup capability switches to Emergency Operation in these power losses to illuminate escape routes and safety equipment.

LED only Emergency Lights

The Exit Light Company features a line of All LED illuminated exit signs and emergency lighting. Light emitting diodes (LEDs) are energy-efficient -- providing greater efficiency of size (more light in a smaller package), using much less energy (up to 1/10th the energy), and lasting much longer (up to 50x life span) than standard incandescent, or even halogen lamps.

Wet Location Emergency Lights

Wet area emergency lights are highly water resistant emergency lights that are fully enclosed and/or gasketed to protect the internal components. They can be deployed in outdoor environments or areas subject to water spray or moisture. Available units range from basic emergency lights to dual purposed light fixtures with backup emergency lighting capabilities.

NEMA rated emergency lights go above and beyond a simple wet location rating to provide a degree of protection against corrosion, windblown dust and rain, splashing water, hose-directed water and damage from external ice formation.

Self Testing Emergency Lights

Self testing emergency lights can automate the tedious labor and time intensive nationally and state required testing of emergency lighting and exit signs. Greatly reduce your maintenance costs with one of our self-testing emergency lights or exit signs.

Industrial Emergency Lights

Industrial emergency lights are durable, high-capacity units that are suitable for warehouses, factories and other spacious areas that require higher voltage or wattages to illuminate efficiently.

Heavy duty batteries are often necessary in harsh environment emergency lighting where emergency lights may be required to withstand contact with or exposure to corrosive elements and carry various certifications (such as NEMA 4X, Hazardous Classes 1 and 2 and Hazardous Divisions 1 and 2).

Harsh Environment Emergency Light

Harsh environment industrial emergency lighting is designed for installations where exposure to dust, chemicals and other materials make it dangerous to install standard emergency lighting that is not manufactured to withstand those conditions.

Steel Emergency Lights

Steel Emergency Lights are sometimes required in factories, warehouses or other industrial commercial buildings because of their strength and durability. Our Steel Exit Signs and Steel Emergency Lighting products are constructed with 20 guage steel housing for rugged durability and have an attractive powder coat finish. Steel Emergency Lighting with Battery Backup Operation are usually powered by more powerful Sealed Lead Acid batteries.

New York City Emergency Lights

New York City emergency lights need to output TWICE the national standard for foot-candles as measured along the path of egress at floor level. In addition, these units must be of metal or other durable materials. These New York City code approved emergency lights meet all necessary requirements.

Remote Head Emergency Lights

A "remote head" is a stand-alone lamp with no internal power supply. When connected by wiring to a compatible remote head capable emergency light or remote head capable exit sign, it provides an efficient means of providing additional lighting. In the event of a power failure the remote lamp head will illuminate for 90 minutes just as if it were a separate stand-alone emergency light. Since the battery, charger and control circuitry are all contained in the base unit, remote heads are an affordable way to extend the reach of your emergency lighting.

It is important to match your remote head capable emergency light or exit sign with the correct voltage remote heads. The Exit Light Company provides 12 volt remote heads, 6 volt remote heads, and low voltage LED remote heads in a range of wattages and bulb types. Both indoor remote heads and outdoor weather proof remote heads are available.

Remote Head Capable Emergency Lights

Remote Heads connect to Remote Head Capabale Emergency Lights to provide additional cost effective Exit Lighting. Remote head capable emergency lights are designed with a high capacity battery backup system that is capable of powering one or more additional external emergency light remote heads for the 90 minute minimum emergency run time (check product descriptions for voltage and wattage of remote heads recommended).

Find a compatible Remote Head Emergency Light by matching the voltage of the Exit Light.

LED Remote Heads

The Exit Light Company features a line of All LED illuminated exit signs and emergency lighting. Light emitting diodes (LEDs) are energy-efficient - providing greater efficiency of size (more light in a smaller package), using much less energy (up to 1/10th the energy), and lasting much longer (up to 50x life span) than standard incandescent, or even halogen lamps.

For many years, LED exit signs have been used to comply with building fire codes and insurance standards. Now, LEDs can also provide bright, clear efficient emergency lighting. LED remote heads can provide even more lighting, by allowing lights to be placed for the most effective illumination.

These highly-efficient exit signs and emergency lights also use maintenance free Ni-Cad batteries. These batteries are smaller, longer lasting, and more tolerant of deep discharge issues than the older sealed lead acid batteries. The combination of these two technologies provide for smaller, more energy-efficient products, lowering your energy consumption and saving you money every month.

Remote Head Capable Exit Signs / Exit Lights

Remote Heads connect to Remote Head Capabale Exit Sign / Emergency Light Combos to provide additional cost effective Exit Lighting. Remote head capable exit sign / emergency light combo units provide for the space saving efficiency of an exit sign with emergency lighting, but also allow the fixture to accommodate one or more additional external remote emergency light heads. These units are equipped with a higher capacity battery backup system to ensure that the entire system can remain illuminated for the standard minimum 90 minutes emergency battery run time (check product descriptions for voltage and wattage of remote heads recommended).

Weather Proof Remote Heads

Weather-proof remote lamp heads are suitable for wet locations and outdoor applications. (When ordering, be sure to match the voltage of the remote lamp head to the remote head capable emergency light base unit).

6 Volt Remote Heads

6 volt remote lamp heads are compatible with remote capable emergency lighting base units that contain a 6 volt battery backup system.

12 Volt Remote Heads

12 volt remote lamp heads are for use with remote capable emergency lighting base units that contain a 12 volt battery backup system.

Recessed Emergency Lights

Recessed emergency lights allow for beautiful, flush architectural installations by hiding most of the emergency lighting unit within the wall or ceiling. If you prefer discreet emergency egress lighting, you will find it in our selection of recess mounted emergency lights.

Our newest and most unique recessed emergency light is the ELCH-P LED wall mounted pathlight. This unit is perfect for locations such as stairwells, step landings, wheelchair ramps and exit corridors. It is UL listed for wet location and outdoor installation greatly enhances landscaping.

Decorative Emergency Lights

Decorative emergency lights are fully functional, architecturally pleasing emergency lights designed for installations where style is just as important as function. There is no need to sacrifice safety, or quality when installing emergency lighting.

Emergency Light Fixtures

With the addition of a backup battery and charging circuit, everyday lighting can function as an emergency light fixture. The Exit Light Company offers a variety of light fixtures - standard lighting fixtures, emergency fixtures (which operate only when power is interrupted), and emergency light fixtures (which operate normally as every day lighting, but function as emergency lighting during power outages). These light fixtures are both decorative and functional and provide an cost effective all-in-one option for providing emergency lighting. Light fixtures with emergency backup capabilities and emergency only fixtures operate and provide illumination for 90 minutes in the event of a power failure.

A wide range of emergency lighting fixtures are available, from battery back-up night lights and flashlights to wall and vanity lighting and flood lights and ceiling lights.
